Greetings and thanks for your interest in my practice. I am a strengths-based therapist who takes a holistic approach when working with people in any season of life and on a variety of challenges. Making the decision to seek therapy is a vulnerable and sometimes difficult step. Finding the right fit is crucial and I openly explore this using a non-judgmental approach with potential clients in establishing a working relationship.
Main areas of focus are trauma, anxiety, panic, phobias, depression, grief, co-dependency, and spiritual development. I offer EMDR and hypnotherapy as a treatment options for those interested in trauma, anxiety or phobia management, weight loss, smoking cessation and more.
I integrate EMDR, Hypnotherapy, CBT, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, spirituality and Reiki healing interventions to elicit profound change.
Life can be challenging and at some point we all go through rough patches. Some people find that they cannot overcome the problem on their own. Therapy helps to heal wounds, overcome obstacles, and build hope for the future. I believe people seek out therapy already equipped with the tools and qualities necessary to have a happy and successful life. Sometimes these skills are clouded by grief, depression, stress, anxiety, etc. My job is to help you work through those issues by tapping into your natural strengths.
As you become more aware of your strengths, you become more confident in yourself. By exploring your values, my goal is to help you lead a life that is consistent with what matters most to you. Often, the result is a decline in the symptoms that brought you into treatment.
My goal in every session is to provide a compassionate and encouraging environment to help you gain confidence in the choices that you make. I believe in creating long lasting changes, instead of just treating symptoms.
Making the decision to enter therapy, whether for yourself or your child, can be a significant step to take. As a therapist, my goal is to create an environment that is safe and welcoming, where you can receive support and healing in navigating your unique and important journey in an individualized, strength-based manner.
I believe in the importance of being present, connected and engaged with authenticity and honesty. In therapy, challenges and difficult moments can be part of the therapeutic process and it is important to be supported through these moments with compassion and respect.
I work with children, teens and adults, focusing on areas including anxiety, depression, trauma, mood dysregulation and LGBTQ+ . In my practice, I utilize a variety of different therapeutic techniques including mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, play therapy, and expressive art techniques.
When working with children and teens, I believe it is critical to also include family, as appropriate, for optimal support and opportunity for growth.
Within the therapeutic relationship, there is tremendous potential for growth and healing. My goal is to create the space and the safe relationship for this growth and healing to occur, led by your goals, strengths and creating the opportunity to explore and be your authentic self.
My name is Dr. Oliver "Ollie" and I'm so excited to be working towards becoming a therapy dog. Right now, I am almost a year old and learning new things every day. I love meeting new people, snuggling, treats and lying in the sun. I have a long way to go still, but I can't wait to meet you and show you all that I can do and what a good boy I can be.
